During that time the person will not have that much remorse in that they are affecting their partners, family or friends. The person will not be able to be productive and perform their duties at work, home and school because of the addiction and hence needs to be taken to a drug rehab.
It is good that one looks for a rehabilitation center that has the facilities and skill to treat their addition. Alcohol and drug addiction go through similar treatment but addictions like gambling and sex are very different and require a different type of treatment.
